KimoAmI Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 18, 2026

1. Overview

KimoAmI is a cat companion and reflection app. Core features work without a Kimo account, iCloud, Apple Health permission, advertising, analytics, or tracking. Some connected features are optional and Apple-native: iCloud/CloudKit private sync, Apple Health summaries after permission, and native sharing.

2. Data Stored Locally

KimoAmI may store the following data locally on your device:

3. Data We Do Not Collect

KimoAmI does not sell user data and does not use analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, Firebase, Supabase, a developer-operated remote database, third-party AI APIs, or third-party login. KimoAmI does not operate a backend server for user data. Optional CloudKit data is handled through Apple iCloud, and optional Apple Health access reads only the Health data types the user grants.

4. Photos and Media

KimoAmI uses bundled Default Kimo Expression Pack images. User photo upload, video upload, and Custom Pack upload are not enabled in this production release.

5. Journal Data

Journal entries are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded and are not shown in widgets.

6. Anniversaries and Important Dates

Anniversary and important date records are stored locally on your device. Widgets may show selected summary text such as a title or day count, but private notes are not shown in widgets by default.

7. Rewards and Mini Games

Hearts, stars, Memory Match sessions, and reward history are stored locally. Hearts and stars are not paid currency and cannot be purchased with real money in this release.

8. Widgets

Widgets use a WidgetSnapshot that may include Kimo’s name, streak count, hearts, stars, a short companion message, a static Kimo image asset name, selected theme ID, and optional Apple Health body-signal summary values such as HRV, heart rate, steps, active energy, workout count, or sleep after permission. Widgets do not show private journal text, private date notes, raw HealthKit samples, uploaded video, GIFs, or remote content.

9. Optional Apple Health

KimoAmI can request permission to read steps, sleep, workouts, active energy, heart rate, and HRV summaries from Apple Health. Apple Health is optional and the app continues to work if permission is denied. Health information is used only as gentle wellness context and is not used for diagnosis, treatment, medical advice, advertising, analytics, or tracking.

10. Optional iCloud / CloudKit

KimoAmI can use CloudKit to check iCloud account availability and save small private records such as a Kimo profile or selected Kimo moment. CloudKit sync is optional and uses the user’s private iCloud database. Private journal text, private date notes, and raw HealthKit samples are not shared by default.

11. Sharing

KimoAmI can use the native iOS share sheet for selected Kimo moments. Sharing is user initiated. The app does not publish to a public feed.

12. Notifications

Notifications, if enabled, are optional local reminders. KimoAmI does not use a push notification server in this release.

13. Children’s Privacy

KimoAmI is not designed to knowingly collect data from children. Optional iCloud, Apple Health, and sharing features use Apple platform services and require the user’s Apple account, permission, or user-initiated action where applicable.

14. Medical and Wellness Disclaimer

KimoAmI is a companion and reflection app. It is not medical advice, mental health treatment, therapy, diagnosis, or emergency support. If you are experiencing an emergency or need urgent help, contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

15. Third-Party Services

KimoAmI does not include third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, remote database, AI chat, or crash reporting SDKs. Optional connected features use Apple frameworks including CloudKit, HealthKit, and ShareLink.

16. Data Deletion

You can reset local data in Settings. Resetting local data removes journal entries, important dates, rewards, streaks, local settings, health summary cache, and safe widget snapshots from the device. Bundled app assets are not deleted. iCloud records can also be managed through the user’s iCloud account and app deletion/reset flows when available for synced records.

18. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated whenever data handling, permissions, third-party SDKs, cloud sync, analytics, notifications, or account features change.
